At least some Windows applications, perhaps many, including 010 Editor, have a “print selection” option in their Print dialog, which will print just the text selected in the application. However, this is not the case with 010 Editor on MacOS.
bbEdit has a separate command,File->Print Selection to print just the selected text.
Could you consider adding this to 010 Editor on MacOS (and Linux, if not already present there)?
010 Editor uses the standard operating system Print dialog for the final print. There is a ‘Selection’ toggle in the Windows 10 dialog box, but that toggle seems to have been removed in Windows 11 and does not exist at all in macOS. We may have to look into using our own custom print dialog in the future to support this, or adding a Print Selection menu option may be possible too. You can always try copying and pasting the data into a new file although that doesn’t always work for some types of data. Cheers!
