please see attached video demonstrate pressing Run button on template window results in it being run on file other than one w/ currently selected tab . this i find counter intuitive and inconvenient and do not understand logic of file chosen . so this is to request feature id est upon pressing said Run button said template run on currently selected file .

Right now, each file has one selected template, and each template has one target file. If you are editing a template, you can click the small down arrow just to the right of the Run button to see a drop-down list of files to select. The current target file should be highlighted in that list. If you are editing a data file, you can click the ‘Run Template’ icon in the tool bar and that will show a drop-down list of templates and the currently selected template should be highlighted.
I see how you would like the target template to automatically change every time you choose a new tab. This is not possible right now but we could add in an option to enable this. We’ll take a look.

Somewhat related, I think that in practice, we always want to run templates and scripts on binary files and never on other templates or scripts. As such, would it be possible to exclude templates and scripts from the “execution target” dropdown list? And similarly, ensure that when we run an installed template or script from the menu bar, that it always gets run on the binary file in the main window even if the active (bold) tab is currently a template/script file in the floating window?
I’ve run into the below situation too many times already 
. Forgot to select the main tab before applying a template from the menu, and boom, not only is it not applied to the binary file, but I’ve also lost syntax highlighting in the template that was already open.

also somewhat related i would find it helpful and more intuitive if the drop down list of template targets were in same order as file tabs . also to elaborate on my first post in this series i often need to run the same template on several files because they are of the same type .
