Hex editor gui feature request

Hi guys,
Great hex editor! I’m still getting used to the huge number of features.
I’ve been using Hex workshop for about 20 years, but they have gone dormant. I looked at many hex editors before settling on yours. There was one feature I saw in ImHex that was immediately useful. It may already be 010 but I’m simply not 100% sure.
In the hex editor bytes with 00 are displayed slightly differently. This makes reversing so much easier on the eyes.

Not sure if that is possible but it would be nice.

Of course it’s possible!
For anyone interested in doing this.

  1. Go to Tools>Options…>Highlights
  2. Create a new highlight - I named it “Zeros”
  3. Make the Ranges 0…0
  4. Use a custom color. Fore: A dark grey, Back: None.

Hi croc. Yes, this is a nice feature and using Highlighting is the best way to make it work in 010 Editor. We should add a ‘Zeros’ rule by default to 010 Editor as other people may find this useful too. Let us know if you have any other suggestions or issues. Cheers!
