Feature Request: Option for always opening as read-only

Hi,
I’ve been using 010editor for some time now and have been really loving it. Most of the time I’m looking at different firmware images, trying to carve data out of them. When I do this I typically set the file to read-only so I don’t accidentally change one of the bytes in the process, but this can be tedious to do every time, especially when opening a lot files. I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option in the settings that would automatically set the file to read-only if selected?

Yes, this would be a nice feature and we’ll see if we can get this added to our next version. Cheers!

There is a now an option for this in 010 Editor v16 in the Opening Files/Tabs page of the Options dialog. Here is a link to the beta version for v16: 010 Editor - Beta Release
