Escape Causes Template Editor to Disappear

greetings & kind regards

as a Vim user i often hit the Escape key unintentionally whilst editing a template . this results in disappearance of template editor . i have been unable to find convenient means to re-open template editor other than to again open it from disk via “Templates::Open Template…” . may i please inquire does a more convenient means exists or if not to provide same or to merely not cause disappearance of Template editor or perhaps provide a Vim-like keyboard interface .

thank you kindly

Yes, the Esc key currently hides any Floating Tab Groups and you can show them again with Alt+5 (on the main menu see View > Floating Tab Groups > Show/Hide All Floating Tab Groups). You can also customize the shortcut for this operation under Tools > Options > Shortcuts. There is currently no way to customize what the Esc key does and we really should add an option to control exactly what is done with Esc is pressed. We’ll look at this for an upcoming version.
